The Placenta is a deeply powerful force of nourishment wisdom. There are many ways to honor them after their time of caring for baby has passed - one is returning them to the earth directly, allowing their magic to become sacred soil.

Right after birth isn’t usually the time for a garden ritual done by the Mother as she needs to rest. Often this predicament is solved by storing placenta in the freezer. The wisdom I’ve received is that placenta doesn’t love this environment and that this time in the freezer has been known to cause stagnant energy for mama and baby.

With ritual care this offering gives Placenta a suitable place to rest. I sit in communion with Placenta in prayer for your family and the earth, eventually planting your placenta beneath a wild rose- (she is a potent teacher of the divine feminine and a great plant ally throughout the different chapters of womanhood) in a gorgeous handmade ceramic pot.

In this state the placenta prayer pot represents the liminal sacred space of postpartum and the strong containment of early motherhood. Baby is born but for a time a transition into this new shape of your family is still underway. When you have the ceremonial call the wild rose placenta prayer can be planted directly into the earth. This can be as early as 6 weeks postpartum or could be years later to mark a special change in you and your child’s life together.

You’ll receive care and transplanting instructions as well as short transmission of whatever came through for you while I sat with your placenta and the great mother.
